_Artist Bio - Joseph 'J.WILL' Williams

Joseph 'J.WILL' Williams was born in Kingston,
Jamaica on October, 6th 1978 and was raised in Galina, St. Mary, Jamaica. At an early age he was
exposed to the performing arts and participated in school competitions for
singing and performing. In his teenage years he moved to Granville and also
Montego Bay Jamaica where he saw the
struggles of poverty on a daily basis and learned how to adapt and survive.
The experience was enlightening, because he began to understand the profound effect that music, more so reggae music had in uplifting the spirit of the people.
J.WILL immigrated to Miami at the age of 18. His musical talents were uncovered by the Vengeance Sound, Anthony 'RAS T' Tadal and Jahmahwi Williams. He began his journey by recording 'drops and dubs' for local sound systems and DJ's.
After being in Miami for a few years, he met a young aspiring producer Stephen' PURPOSE' Chung who was starting a record label Jahgydeyah Records. At that time Purpose was already working with artists such as G.COLE, JAHYUT, BONES and SHARATE. Fortunately, J.WILL fit right into the movement and later recorded over twenty songs for the label.
J.WILL and Purpose co-wrote the song Rise Up for the well accomplished Reggae band Third World for their album Black, Gold and Green which received a Grammy Nomination.
J.WILL recently released a new video promoting his hit single Bass Drop! which was co-written and co-produced with Vinni Hamilton Productions. This later lead to a partnership for a house/dance version of Bass Drop with IceDown Productions (Fort Lauderdale,FL) and Kitsch 2.0 (Marseille, France).
J.Will continues to tour, mostly with the WRAPS AND KUSH band, doing shows throughout the Caribbean, the USA and Europe. J.WILL has performed on the same stage as Sizzla, the Marley Family (Bob Marley Annual Music Festival), Buju Banton, Barrington Levi (Best of the Best), Jill Scott, (Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival) and many others.
J.WILL is also an active thespian and has toured throughout the Caribbean and the USA with the New Artist Movement playing the lead male character 'Romeo' in the play 'Love Knows No Boundary' a Caribbean modern day adaptation of 'Romeo & Juliet'.
J.WILL is a new eclectic sensation with an impressive collection of songs, a fusion of Reggae, Roots Rock, Lovers Rock, Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B and Rock music.
